Congratulations to Simon Bagnell, Warehouse Manager at Samuel Grant Leeds, celebrating 20 years of service, a huge achievement! Starting in 2003 as a Warehouse Operative, Simon has worked his way up to management level, adapting to change, gaining valuable experience and taking on more responsibility as the business has grown. The commitment and loyalty of staff help to make Samuel Grant the successful business it is today. Thank you, Simon, from all the Samuel Grant family.

“I joined Samuel Grant in 2003 from a highly pressurised logistics background and this proved to be the vocation for me.

Starting in the warehouse, my experience proved very valuable to the business, I suggested and implemented many improvements within the organisation. Working alongside Erik, Peter and David, who were true gentlemen, the business has flourished and the challenges were met head on.

Every day is different and working for Samuel Grant is a pleasure, giving me a sense of belonging to a great, family business. My opinions and suggestions are always listened to, making me feel valued as an employee.

In the time I have worked for Samuel Grant the business has grown rapidly but we have always managed to adapt to the increase in workload and the changes in how we work. The most important part of the team is the players, and we are more of a family than workers, we all help each other overcome whatever is put in front of us.

My experience led me to progressing through the ranks, having successfully taken on roles in the trade counter and stock management, leading me to become Warehouse Manager.

In the future, I can see great things happening to the business under the strong leadership skills of Andrew and Matthew; I am sure that David would be a very proud father.

I would like this opportunity to say thank you for the last 20 years, it has been a pleasure.”
